Announcing the 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team

The Southern California Youth Yacht Racing Association Board of Directors is proud to officially announce the selection of the 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team. This team recognizes the dedication and accomplishments of Southern California's most advanced junior sailors, honoring their performance in local, regional, national, and international regattas. These athletes represent the next generation of college champions, world-class racers, and Olympic hopefuls. This program is a cornerstone of SCYYRA's commitment to improving sailing skills and fostering high-level competition among youth racers. The 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team members are required to attend the Advanced Winter Training Clinic in December as an opportunity to strengthen personal skills and mentor the next generation of sailors. Congratulations to the 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team!

2025 SCYYRA Advanced Racing Clinic Applications Open

Ahoy, SoCal Sailors in Grades 8-12: The application is now OPEN for the 2025 SCYYRA Advanced Winter Training Clinic! This annual clinic, held at the United States Sailing Center Long Beach on December 6-7, 2025, brings together the most advanced sailors in the Southern California region with elite coaches from around the world. The 2-day clinic includes the 29er, C420, CFJ, and ILCA 6/7 fleets; it is open to 2025 and 2026 SCYYRA Racing Team Members, in addition to experienced participants in SCYYRA Series and/or High School Programs. Acceptance is based on age, experience, and demonstrated skill level. Applications MUST be received by 11:59 PM on November 16th, 2025.  NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

2024-2025 SCYYRA Frost Champion Crowned!

Congratulations to Maddie Nichols of (BYC) on her SCYYRA Frost Series victory! The final event was hosted by Santa Barbara Yacht Club and our trophy winners had five points separating 1st and 3rd in a very tight Series result.
