2. ELIGIBILITY, ENTRY
& ENTRY FEE
2.1
Each participant shall be under 21 years of age during the series and
must be a member of an SCYA or SCYYRA club.
2.2
Entries for the 2005/2006 Shadden Series must be filed with the Shadden
Series Chairman along with the entry fee for the series. An entry must
also be completed for each individual regatta in accordance with the
Notice of Race for each event.
2.3
There will be a $35 entry fee payable to SCYYRA. The entry fee includes
T-shirts for skipper and crew.
2.4
All boats must have a valid measurement certificate on file with the CFJ
Class Secretary. If your boat has not been measured YOU MUST
contact Erik Kingaard, CFJ Class Measurer at
949-428-1529

3. CLASS MEMBERSHIP
Either skipper or crew on
each boat must be a member in good standing of the CFJ Class.
Look on the CFJ Class website at
www.cfjclass.org for a list of current CFJ Class members, a list of
measured CFJs, CFJ Class Rules, and Shadden Series Results.
4. RULES
4.1
Each regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing for
2005-2008, the prescriptions of US SAILING, the Shadden Series Standing
Rules as published in the 2005 SCYYRA Year Book; the CFJ Class Rules;
this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions issued by each club.

4.2
Rule 34 concerning the weight of the boat will be in effect. If
correcting weight is required it shall be permanently affixed in
accordance with Rule 34.
4.3
Rule 35 concerning crew weight will be in effect (the combined weight
shall be 240-lbs/108.9 kg; however, no crew shall carry more than
25-lbs/11.3 kg)
5. SCORING
5.1
The Low-Point Scoring System, rule A2, will apply with 20 or more
races scheduled. A DNC will be based on the total number of entries in
the series. A DNF, DSQ and DNS will be based on the total number of
Shadden Series starters in each individual regatta.
5.2 Throwout races will be incorporated into the series scoring with
the following formulas:
If 14-15 races are completed, there will be 1 throwout
If 16-17 races are completed, there will be 2 throwouts
If 18-19 races are completed, there will be 3 throwouts
If 20 or more races are completed, there will be 4 throwouts.
5.3 Sail number and crew changes must be approved by the Shadden Series
Chairman, Mike Segerblom and reported to the race committee before the
first race each day.
