NOTICE OF RACE

1. RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing and the SCYYRA Perry Series Notice of Race

2. ELIGIBILTY and ENTRY
2.1 The regatta is open to all 420 class boats.
2.2 Skippers must be members in good standing with the 420 class association and SCYYRA.
2.3 Competitors must be registered for the 2003-2004 Perry Series with SCYYRA.
2.4 Completed entry forms must be filed with Newport Harbor Yacht Club before the 0930 hrs to be eligible to compete.
2.5 Please refer to the document "Event Information" for further information.

3. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be available upon registration at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club.

5. COMPETITORS’ MEETING
A competitors’ meeting will be held at NHYC on Saturday, March 13 at 1000 hrs on the Main deck.

6. RACING AREA
The racing area will be in the ocean off Newport Beach.

7. SHORESIDE ANNOUCEMENTS
7.1 Notices to Competitors, including changes to the Sailing Instructions and or the Schedule of Races, will be posted on the Official Notice Board located on the Main Deck of NHYC.
7.2 Signals made ashore will be displayed from the mast of the race committee vessel Jim Webster.

8. SCORING
8.1 The Low-Point Scoring System of Appendix A will apply. Each boat’s series score will be the sum of her scores for all races.
8.2 Two races shall constitute a series.

9. TROPHIES
Trophies will be awarded Sunday, March 14 as soon as possible after the last race for places 1-3.

EVENT INFORMATION

 

PARKING
The NHYC parking lot is for members only. Regatta participant parking passes will be issued at registration to visiting competitors. Cars without member stickers, or regatta permits are subject to towing. Street parking is available. Please be aware that trailers parked on the street must be attached to a car. Parking in the alley is not allowed and the Newport Beach police department will issue tickets. Please see NHYC's dockmaster, Bob Ledbetter, for assistance with overnight trailer parking

LUNCHES
Bag Lunches (water, sandwich, fruit, chips, and dessert) will be available at a cost of $6.00 each and must be PRE-ORDERED by March 10, 2004. To order lunch please indicate it on the entry form. Make checks payable to NHYC.

DINING
All charges in the Clubhouse must be paid in cash or member charge (we do not accept credit cards).
A complementary continental breakfast offering donuts, fruit, coffee, water and hot chocolate will be available daily at 9:00 am on the main deck.
A breakfast buffet is available on weekends at 9:00 am.
Lunch is served daily in the Pirate’s Den.

CELL PHONES
The use of cell phone is prohibited in the club house and main deck.
