NOTICE OF RACE

Balboa Yacht Club

1. Rules
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), and the Perry Series Standing Rules as published in the 2003 SCYYRA Year Book.

2. Schedule of Events

Sunday Jan 18

8:30- 9:00 Registration

9:15 Competitors Meeting

9:30 Tow leaves BYC dock

11:00 First race

3. Fees
Entry fees in the amount of $15.00 should be made payable to Balboa Yacht Club for the regatta. If you are not already registered for the 2003-2004 Perry Series, and you wish to register for the 2003-2004 Perry Series, an additional $25.00 entry fee to payable SCYYRA and a separate Perry Series registration form must be completed.

4. Scoring
The Low Point System of the RRS Appendix A will apply. Five (5) races will be attempted. The Perry Series scoring shall be based on the official results of each regatta tabulated against other Perry Series entrants.

5. Eligibility and Boats
Participants shall be members of the 420 Class Association and Class legal 420s must be sailed.

6. Sailing Area
Off the shore of Newport Beach, between the Balboa and Newport Pier.

7. Sailing Instructions
Sailing instructions will be available at registration.

8. Parking
The BYC parking lot can be used for temporary parking (unload trailer and gear) only. Due to the limited size of the BYC parking lot, non-members must park on the street. Please rig boats in the boat yard, and not the parking lot. Thank you J

9. Lunch
Bag lunches will be available for an additional $6.00. All lunches must be pre-ordered by January 15.

10. Prizes
Trophies will be awarded to teams placing 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, and for 1^st all girl team.
